Bland AI alternative

An alternative to Bland AI, built with your team in the EU

Bland AI is a capable phone-agent platform from the United States that runs its own models and sells one all-in price per minute. VoiceDock runs its orchestration, dashboard, API and storage on EU infrastructure, lets you choose and bring your own model providers, contracts as a Dutch company, and builds your voice system alongside your team. Below: Bland's published plans line by line, a comparison per buyer requirement, and the cases where Bland is the better choice.

Why teams start comparing

Four reasons a European team looks past Bland AI

None of these make Bland a weak product. They follow from how it is packaged and sold.

01

You want to choose the models yourself

Bland runs its own language, transcription and voice models, and its per-minute price includes all three. That is simple, but the stack is Bland's. On VoiceDock you pick the model providers per assistant, and you can run them on your own provider keys so the provider bills you directly. What that does to the cost per minute is written up separately.

02

You want EU hosting and a DPA without an enterprise contract

Bland's security page offers per-call regional pinning and says EU data stays on EU GPUs, without naming which plans include it. Its published DPA applies to customers on its Enterprise Services Agreement. Our orchestration, dashboard, API and storage run on EU infrastructure for every customer, with a standard data processing agreement under GDPR Article 28 at no additional cost. Why that matters for voice is set out separately.

03

You want your own phone line without an enterprise plan

Bland sells numbers for the US and Canada from its API; other countries go through support. Its SIP integration requires an entitlement for Enterprise organisations, and the alternative is bringing your own Twilio account. We connect your own number over your own SIP trunk with you.

04

You want to sell it under your own brand

Bland's partner programme pays resellers a commission for every customer they bring to Bland. If you want to put voice AI in front of your own customers under your own name, at your own price per customer, that is what our white-label setup is for. Telecom and VoIP providers have a page of their own, and software companies can start from our partner page.

The bill

What Bland AI costs, and what we charge

Our side of it

One fee, with the models at cost

Our orchestration fee is € 0,07 per minute, for inbound, outbound and web calls alike. Model usage on our keys is passed through at cost; on your own keys your provider bills you and the fee stays the same. Telephony is billed per leg at the carrier's rate. Bland's rate includes the models and ours does not, so set Bland's $0.12 to $0.14 against our fee plus the models you would run. What decides the bill is the total per connected conversation. How to work that out per minute is written up in full.

Where we would not argue

When Bland AI is the better choice

A comparison that wins on every line is not worth reading. Four cases where Bland is the stronger fit.

You want one vendor for the whole call path

Bland runs its own models and speech, so there is one company and one DPA behind the call instead of a set of model providers. If your security review prefers that over choosing providers yourself, Bland's setup answers it directly.

You want it inside your own cloud account

Bland offers deployment inside your own AWS, GCP or Azure VPC, besides on-premise and air-gapped options. Our on-premise unit is installed in your own server room; if the requirement is your own public cloud account, Bland's VPC option is the closer fit.

You need SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS or a HIPAA BAA from the vendor itself

Bland lists SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS v4.0 from independent auditors, and signs a business associate agreement for health data. If your procurement requires those from the vendor directly, that settles it. Our certifications sit with our infrastructure providers, as the Trust Center explains.

You want a single price per minute for high-volume calling in North America

One rate that covers model, transcription and voice, numbers for the US and Canada from the API, and plans sized by calls per day suit a large outbound operation that wants a predictable bill without choosing providers.

Switching

How a move from Bland AI works

Moving is a short list of work, and we do it with you rather than hand you a guide.

  1. 01

    Take stock

We list what your Bland agents do: prompts, pathways, tools, webhooks, post-call data and the numbers they answer.
  2. 02

    Rebuild

Agents become assistants, pathways are rebuilt with you, and tools become tool calls into your own systems. Because you now choose the models, we pick the providers together. How tool calls into business systems behave on a live line is worth reading before this step.
  3. 03

    Point the telephony at us

If your numbers run over your own SIP trunk or your own Twilio account, the routing is pointed at us instead. Numbers bought from Bland are something to settle with Bland before you plan the move. Transfers are tested against real destinations, because a transfer that fails is where callers get lost.
  4. 04

    Test, then go live

Test calls first, then real callers, while you keep your Bland setup until you are satisfied. What happens on our side when a server fails is on the reliability page.

Questions

What people ask when they compare Bland AI

How much does Bland AI cost?

Bland's Start plan is $0.14 per connected minute with no platform fee, and its Build plan is $0.12 per minute plus $299 a month. Both rates include the language model, transcription and voice. Transfer time on a Bland number, outbound and failed-call minimums, SMS and phone numbers ($15 a month) are billed on top. Enterprise pricing is contracted to volume. Figures from bland.ai/pricing and Bland's billing documentation, retrieved 5 October 2026.

What does VoiceDock cost per minute?

€ 0,07 per minute for orchestration, for inbound, outbound and web calls alike, plus model usage at cost on our keys or billed directly by your provider on your own keys. Telephony is billed per leg at the carrier's rate. There is no per-seat licence. The details are on our pricing page.

Is VoiceDock cheaper than Bland AI?

It depends on the models. Bland's $0.12 to $0.14 includes the language model, transcription and voice; our € 0,07 does not. With lighter models the total can come out lower than Bland's rate, with heavier ones higher. Bring us your call volume and the models you want and we will work it out with you.

Does Bland AI process data in the EU?

Bland's security page offers per-call regional pinning and says EU data stays on EU GPUs, without naming which plans or regions include it. Its privacy policy says data may be processed in countries including the United States, and its published DPA applies to customers on its Enterprise Services Agreement. VoiceDock runs orchestration, dashboard, API and storage on EU infrastructure for every customer.

Can I use my own phone number?

Yes. You connect your own number over your SIP trunk, and we set that up with you. A managed number is available on request for testing and setup. On Bland, SIP is an Enterprise entitlement; without it you bring your own Twilio account.

Can I choose or bring my own models?

Yes. You choose the language, transcription and voice providers per assistant, and you can run them on your own provider keys, self-serve, with the orchestration fee staying € 0,07 per minute. Bland runs its own models, and its rate includes them.

Can I move my Bland agents to VoiceDock?

Yes, by rebuilding them rather than importing them. Prompts, pathways, tools and webhooks all have a counterpart on our side: assistants, tool calls, webhooks and post-call analysis against a schema you define. We do that work with you and test transfers and tool calls before real callers are routed.

Can I resell VoiceDock under my own brand?

Yes. A parent organisation can cover usage for its customer organisations, with pricing per organisation, so you set your own price to your own customers. The white-label and agency setups both run this way.

Bland AI or Retell AI: what is the difference?

Bland sells one all-in rate per minute that includes its own models: $0.12 to $0.14 on its self-serve plans. Retell lists a $0.055 voice infrastructure fee and bills the model, voice and telephony you choose on top. Both are US platforms priced in US dollars. Retell figure retrieved 29 September 2026. We set VoiceDock next to Retell on a separate page, and next to Vapi on another. Synthflow, a Berlin platform with sales-led pricing, has its own comparison.
